The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana, is Slovenia’s central hub for physics education and research. Physics and mathematics have been taught at the University of Ljubljana since its foundation as a national university in 1919 and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in its current structure was formed in 1995 to bring these activities under one roof. Today, the department hosts a vibrant community of students and researchers working across theoretical and experimental physics and maintains close links with leading national and international research institutes.
